ISTANBUL (AA) - Juventus confirmed Friday that Turkish wunderkind Kenan Yildiz has renewed his contract, extending his stay with the Italian Serie A football club until June 2029.
"Born and raised in Germany by his Turkish father and German mother – choosing his father's nationality, with whom he has already made 12 appearances and scored one goal with the senior national team, in addition to his experience at the recent European Championships – Yildiz came through the youth ranks of Bayern Munich, who set their sights on him at just seven years of age, remaining with the German giants for a decade," Juventus said in a statement.
Yildiz moved to Juventus in 2022, starting with the Under-19 team, producing 15 goals in 37 matches before joining the Juventus Next Gen side, with whom he made his professional debut in December 2022, netting two goals.
Juventus added that he would wear the Turin club’s 10 jersey this season.
The 19-year-old was part of the Türkiye national team which earlier this summer advanced to the EURO 2024 quarterfinals in Germany.
