Karmod delivers bread kiosks to quake-affected city in Türkiye

Kiosks will help with bread distribution in newly constructed residential areas in Metropolitan Municipality of Malatya, which were affected by twin powerful earthquakes in February of last year

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish modular construction company Karmod has produced 10 ready-to-use sales kiosks for the Metropolitan Municipality of Malatya in eastern Türkiye.

The kiosks will help with bread distribution in newly constructed residential areas following the powerful Kahramanmaras earthquakes that struck the country's southeastern region in February of last year.

The kiosks are part of an effort to increase access to affordable bread in the region, where municipal bread programs aim to provide cost-effective and hygienic food solutions for communities recovering from the disaster.

Karmod Cabin Sales Manager Enes Kizilbay highlighted the role of the kiosks in ensuring practical and hygienic bread distribution in disaster-hit areas.

“Our modular kiosks, equipped with electrical systems and shelving, make it easier to establish new distribution points,” Kizilbay said. “They are widely used by municipalities to deliver affordable, healthy bread in hygienic conditions.”

Kizilbay added that the kiosks are versatile and often used for other food services such as sandwich and kebab vendors.

The units are designed for efficiency and can be operational on the same day they are delivered.

The company manufactured and delivered 10 kiosks for MEGSAS, Malatya Metropolitan Municipality’s bread production subsidiary, within a week.

“Our kiosks, made with fiberglass-reinforced plastic (GRP), are durable and easy to clean,” Kizilbay said. “They come with shelves, counters, and shutter systems, fully equipped for immediate use. Once installed at designated locations, they began serving the community the same day.”
