ANKARA (AA) - Karolina Pliskova from the Czech Republic advanced to her first Wimbledon semifinals by defeating Viktorija Golubic on Tuesday.
The former world No.1 secured a victory against her Swiss opponent in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
She will meet either Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus or Ons Jabeur from Tunisia to qualify for the final.
Meanwhile, Hubert Hurkacz reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals with a 2-6, 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Russian world No. 2 Daniil Medvedev in a postponed fourth round game due to rain.
The Polish tennis player will take on Swiss star Roger Federer in the men's quarterfinals.
