ISTANBUL (AA) - Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart K. Tokayev congratulated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the occasion of the Republic of Türkiye’s centenary on Sunday.
Both leaders also discussed over a phone call the current situation in the Israel-Palestine conflict, Türkiye’s efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, and Israel's human rights violations, Türkiye’s Communications Directorate said on X.
"During the call, Erdogan stated that the Organization of Turkic States summit in Astana must address in detail the steps that can be taken to ensure a humanitarian ceasefire and prevent the spread of conflicts, particularly Israel's violations of international law," said the directorate.
Erdogan also conveyed his condolences to Tokayev concerning the mining accident that occurred in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan.
