NAIROBI, Kenya (AA) - Police in Kenya on Tuesday arrested the widower of an Australian teacher killed on Thursday last week in what investigators initially treated as a robbery.
Cyrus Maina was detained after he visited the Karen police station seeking to find out the state of the investigation into the death of his wife.
Gabrielle Maina had been the principal of Hillcrest School in Nairobi, and was a mother of two.
Confirming Cyrus Maina’s detention to local media, Karen police chief, Cunningham Suiyanka, refused to give more details.
However, the Australian teacher had been living in Kenya since September 2015, and had been in the process of divorcing from her husband, local media reported.
