NAIROBI, Kenya (AA) - Kenyans from all walks of life joined others from different countries living in the Kenyan capital Nairobi to have a taste of the Turkish cuisine at a food festival at the Turkish Embassy on Friday.
Turkiye's Ambassador to Nairobi Ahmet Cemil Miroglu welcomed guests from different occupations to enjoy the Turkish Cuisine Week and the taste of Turkish food.
The guests praised the rich tastes of food that the chefs from Turkiye cooked, crowding the chef's table to hear about how to prepare Turkish food.
Experienced chefs demonstrated how they cook the food.
The embassy also offered the guests many recipes, prepared by the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry, that they could take home and share with friends and family after the event.
Kenyans were happy to taste various local dishes from Turkiye, thanking the Turkish people for introducing them to the East African country.
Top on the menu was stuffed vine leaves with sour cherries, stuffed zucchini boats, zucchini fritters with yogurt, Turkish meat dumplings with yogurt, along with Sultan’s delight and Pumpkin dessert, while Turkish coffee was also served with Turkish delight.
