ANKARA (AA) - South Korea has expressed willingness to co-host a major women's football in 2023 together with the North, according to a media report.
Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, the governing body of world football, has proposed the idea of two Koreas co-hosting the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, the South Korean daily Chosunilbo said, citing an official with the Korea Football Association.
"Although we haven't talked with North Korea about that yet, we expect some degree of cooperation from FIFA on the matter," the daily quoted the official as saying.
Eight other countries including Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Africa are willing to host the international tournament.
FIFA will decide about the 2023 host country in March 2020.
