ISTANBUL / PRISTINA, Kosovo (AA) – Due to a trip abroad, Kosovo’s prime minister on Monday did not pay prosecutors a visit to testify in a case, Kosovo's Special Prosecutor's Office said.
The summons for Albin Kurti will be rescheduled, said Liridona Kozmaqi, spokeswoman for the office.
Last week Kosovo government spokesperson Perparim Kryeziu said on social media that Kurti was called to testify as a witness in a case over allegations of some officials’ abuse of office.
Criticizing the summons as politically motivated, Kryeziu argued that it was an attempt to influence the general elections scheduled next Feb. 9.
Local media reported that Kurti had been summoned as a witness in a case related to the misuse of food reserves.
