KUWAIT CITY (AA) – Kuwait said Tuesday that the bodies of two missing Kuwaiti and Saudi nationals had been found in Iraq’s western Anbar province.
The pair had gone missing while they had been on a hunting trip in a desert area in western Iraq.
“Coordination is currently underway with the Iraqi government to determine the circumstances of the incident and the results of the ongoing investigations,” Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said in a statement carried by official Kuwait News Agency.
The top diplomat hailed efforts of the Iraqi authorities to determine the fate of the two missing tourists in a short time.
Iraqi security forces launched a search operation on Monday for the two tourists after their vehicle was found burnt in western Iraq.
