BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan (AA) - Türkiye's state-run aid agency TIKA was awarded by Kyrgyzstan on Sunday.
The agency won the "Exemplary-2023" award in the "Support to the Health Sector of the Kyrgyz Republic" category.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov presented the award to TIKA’s program coordinator in Bishkek, Mehmet Bodur.
At the ceremony, it was recalled that Turkish Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Ahmet Sadik Dogan received the award in the "Exemplary Person-2022" category for his contributions to the treatment of children that year, and he was invited to the stage to present another award.
He started his speech by saying that "Kyrgyzstan is our ancestral homeland, so I want to speak in the ancestral language," receiving applause from the attendees.
During the ceremony, famous vocal artists took the stage and a folk dance was also performed.
