ANKARA (AA) - US soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy's Mexican star Javier Hernandez (Chicharito) will miss the rest of the season due to a calf injury.
In a statement on Monday, LA Galaxy said Chicharito, 32, "returned to Los Angeles and will miss the remainder of the MLS is Back Tournament due to a right calf strain suffered in training last week."
Chicharito has previously played for English clubs Manchester United and West Ham United, Spain's Real Madrid and Sevilla, and German team Bayer Leverkusen.
LA Galaxy signed him in January.
The MLS is Back Tournament kicked off on July 8, nearly four months after the top US league was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
All matches, including the final on Aug. 11, will be played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
