BOGOTA, Colombia (AA) - Countries across Latin America have reported new COVID-19 cases and fatalities, according to official data announced late Tuesday.
- Brazil
Brazil’s Health Ministry said 336 people lost their lives due to COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 655,585.
Some 52,094 new cases registered in the country took the total number of people diagnosed with COVID-19 to over 29.43 million.
- Mexico
In the past 24 hours, 260 people died in Mexico, raising the country's death toll to 321,375, the Health Ministry reported.
The country also registered 6,025 new cases.
- Colombia
According to the Colombian Health Ministry, 20 people died due to COVID-19, taking the total fatalities to 139,335.
The country with a population of 50 million also registered 573 new cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 6.07 million.
- Argentina
Argentina reported 38 COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said.
The country also registered 5,076 new cases.
A total of 127,295 people lost their lives since the beginning of the pandemic, while over 8.98 million people have so far contracted the virus.
- Peru
Peru reported 21 fatalities due to the disease along with 308 new infections over the last day, according to the country's Health Ministry.
The death toll rose to 211,619 and the total number of cases passed 3.53 million.
- Chile
At least 34 people lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in Chile, bringing the death toll to 44,039, said the country’s Health Ministry.
Some 8,716 new cases were also registered in the country, taking the total to over 3.32 million.
