BEIRUT, Lebanon (AA) – Lebanese group Hezbollah on Thursday claimed to have killed four Israeli soldiers in a missile attack in northern Israel.
Guided missiles were fired at Israeli soldiers inside a house in Al-Manara settlement, the group said in a statement.
There was no confirmation yet from the Israeli army on the claim.
Israel said earlier Thursday that about 50 projectiles were fired at towns in Upper Galilee from Lebanon, in the largest bombardment in northern Israel.
Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
At least 78 Hezbollah members have been killed in cross-border clashes since Oct. 8.
The border tension comes amid Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas last month.
