ANKARA (AA) - Ferrari's Monegasque racer Charles Leclerc took the pole position for Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix, which will be round 17 of the 2022 Formula One World Championship.
Leclerc finished the qualifying session in a minute and 49.412 seconds to lead the Singapore Grand Prix at the 5.06-kilometer (3.1-mile) Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Red Bull Racing's Mexican driver Sergio Perez was 0.022 seconds behind Leclerc to take the second spot. Mercedes' British driver Lewis Hamilton came third in Saturday's qualifying session.
The Dutch racer of Red Bull Racing and this season's leader, Max Verstappen, will start P8 on Sunday.
In the 2022 campaign, Verstappen won 11 of 16 Grands Prix.
The 61-lap Singapore Grand Prix will begin at 1200 GMT.
