Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons suffered a ligament injury and will be sidelined for several weeks, the German Bundesliga side said Thursday.
The Dutch midfielder was injured during Wednesday's UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool, which ended 1-0 in favor of the English side.
The 21-year-old has scored three goals to go along with two assists in 11 appearances for the German club this season.
Simons, who played for PSV Eindhoven, is currently on loan at Leipzig from French Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain on a deal that will end on June 30, 2025.
