TRIPOLI, Libya (AA) – The head of Libya’s Tripoli-based unity government Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh met with a top British defense adviser on Thursday to discuss technical military cooperation between the two countries.
Talks between Dbeibeh and ministry adviser Martin Sampson also touched on defense cooperation, the activation of bilateral training programs, and the transfer of British know-how to Libya, the Libyan government said in a statement.
Sampson arrived in Libya on Wednesday aboard Royal Navy ship HMS Albion, the first such visit to the country in eight years.
Several Libyan officials visited the ship, said Musa Al-Koni, the vice-president of Libya’s Presidency Council.
