MOSCOW (AA) - A light-engine private plane on Saturday crashed in Russia's southern border region of Altai Krai, killing the pilot, said Russian authorities.
The crash took place near the village of Priozerny, but there were no passengers aboard and no damage was caused, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said in a statement.
Following the incident, the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office is set to do an inspection of the implementation of flight safety legislation with a visit to the scene.
Currently, law enforcement and emergency services are working at the crash site to gather evidence and establish the circumstances as well as address the consequences of the crash.
