ANKARA (AA) - Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah of Egypt and Senegalese winger Sadio Mane will face each other in the African playoffs for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The draw for the final round of the CAF qualifiers was held on Saturday. Ten national teams will be competing in this phase for five tickets to Qatar 2022.
The third round will see Egypt vs. Senegal, Cameroon vs. Algeria, Ghana vs. Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo vs. Morocco, and Mali vs. Tunisia matches.
The playoffs will be played as two-legged tie as five victorious teams will reserve their places each in this year's World Cup.
The first legs will be held on March 24, and the return matches will be played five days later.
Qatar 2022 has been scheduled for Nov. 21 to Dec. 18.
It will be the first World Cup tournament to be held in mid-season, as previous World Cup finals took place in May, June, or July.
