NEW YORK (AA) – Wall Street closed lower Tuesday to end the first trading day of the new month with losses as tech stocks lost ground.
The Dow lost 105 points to finish at 18,037. The S&P was down 14 points to 2,111 and the Nasdaq decreased 35 points to end the day at 5,153.
Apple lost 1.8 percent, while Twitter was down 2.6 percent. Automaker and energy storage company Tesla lost 3.5 percent, while GoPro fell 2.6 percent.
The market will closely watch the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision Wednesday when the central bank's two-day meeting concludes.
