Magnitude 7.1 earthquake jolts Philippines

Tremors strike near Sangay region

A powerful magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck west-southwest of the Sangay region of the Philippines on Thursday.

The quake occurred in the Moro Gulf, south of Mindanao, at a depth of 620 kilometers (385 miles) around 2.13 a.m. local time, said the United States Geological Survey.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage
