HAMILTON, Canada (AA) - A man was arrested Tuesday at the US Capitol Visitor Center (CVC) after officers detected suspicious items during a security screening.
"Our officers just arrested a man who was stopped during our screening process at the Capitol Visitor Center (CVC). The man smelled like fuel, had a torch and a flare gun," said the Capitol police on X.
The Capitol police further stated that "the CVC is closed for tours for the day, while we investigate," adding that further updates are expected as more details become available.
