BUDAPEST (AA) – A man fatally stabbed a police officer and injured two others in Budapest, police said on Friday.
Officers were called to a flat in the Hungarian capital’s Ujbuda district that the suspect was trying to enter by force, according to a police statement.
He stabbed three officers who tried to detain him, one of whom later died in hospital.
The suspect escaped out onto the street, where he was shot in the leg by a fourth officer.
The man has been hospitalized, police said, without revealing his identity.
