ANKARA (AA) - Manchester United's English forward Marcus Rashford was diagnosed with a muscle injury and will miss games, including a clash Thursday with Sevilla in a UEFA Europa League quarterfinal match.
"The forward was withdrawn in the 80th minute of Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League win over Everton at Old Trafford and immediately headed to the dressing room for treatment," Manchester United said in a statement Wednesday.
It said the 25-year-old "will be unavailable for a few games."
The forward, who has played for Manchester United since 2016, scored 28 goals in all competitions this season.
He amassed 51 caps for England with 15 goals.
The Europa League quarterfinal with Spain's Sevilla will be held at Manchester's Old Trafford and will kick off at 1900GMT.
The second leg will be played April 20 in Seville.
Sevilla hold the record with six Europa League titles. Man Utd won its only title in the tournament in 2017.
