Manchester United announced Friday that Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez is injured.
"Lisandro Martinez will be out of action for an extended period due to an aggravation of the foot injury he suffered in April," the English Premier League club's statement read.
The 25-year-old experienced a setback in the Premier League game against Arsenal on Sept. 3, he even played the next two matches against Brighton & Hove Albion and Bayern Munich, respectively.
The Red Devils stated that he needs a period on the sidelines for recovery and rehabilitation.

The statement from Manchester United added that Spanish full-back Sergio Reguilon also suffers from a minor injury.
According to the statement, the 26-year-old will not be included in Saturday's Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
Manchester United is at the ninth spot in the Premier League with nine points.
