ANKARA (AA) - Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt scored a screamer to keep Bayern Munich atop the German Bundesliga standings as the visitors beat Freiburg 1-0 on Saturday.
In minute 51 of the second half, de Ligt fired a powerful strike into the top corner of Freiburg’s goal for the winner at Europa-Park Stadion.
Bayern Munich have 58 points in 27 matches to go two points clear of second-place Borussia Dortmund, who toppled third-placed Union Berlin 2-1 in another Bundesliga fixture on Saturday.
Donyell Malen and Youssoufa Moukoko scored for Dortmund. Kevin Behrens scored for Union Berlin.
Union Berlin have 51 points in the German league. Freiburg, who lost to Bayern Munich at home, are fifth with 47 points.
