ANKARA (AA) - Business leaders, public officials and experts from the Mediterranean region will meet in Barcelona in November to discuss green economy solutions.
The Eco MedaGreen Summit, which will be held on Nov. 23 as part of 11th Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders (MedaWeek), will address entrepreneurs to follow a path for green economy that represents a potential of the Mediterranean region for employment creation, technological progress and competitiveness.
Anadolu Agency is the “Global Communication Partner” of the 11th MedaWeek, which is co-organized by the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME), the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed). This is the third time the agency is participating in the event as a global partner.
The Mediterranean region is one of the hotspots of climate change. Temperature in the region is likely to rise 2.2 degrees to 5.1 degrees Celsius by 2100, according to ASCAME.
The region is in a process of harmonizing its socio-economic and environmental objectives in order to adapt international commitments to regional conditions, the association said in a statement.
The emergence of Mediterranean sustainability in four areas -- water, solar energy, wind energy and sustainable cities -- will be discussed at the Eco MedaGreen Summit.
