KYIV (AA) – A member of parliament, Sergey Batrin, detonated three hand grenades during a local meeting in Ukraine’s Transcarpathia region, said authorities on Friday.
The incident took place in the building of the Keretskivska village council in the Mukachevo district, leading to injuries among 26 council members, with six in serious condition, according to Ukraine’s Interior Ministry.
The police investigative-operational group, explosives experts, and criminal investigators are actively working at the scene.
A statement from the Ukrainian Security Service revealed that an investigation has been launched, categorizing the event as having a "terrorist" nature.

The incident reportedly occurred amid discussions on the 2024 budget at the Keretskivska village council meeting, where objections were raised concerning certain budgetary matters.
