ISTANBUL (AA) - The Mercedes-Benz Republic Rally, organized in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz and Classic Car Club, ended with a ceremony held at Benasta Benleo Acibadem in Istanbul.
The Republic Rally, which started from Ciragan Palace Kempinski to keep the enthusiasm of the Republic Day alive, brought together classic car enthusiasts for two days.
The second day of the rally, which started at Sait Halim Pasa Mansion, ended with the Republic cocktail held at Benesta Benleo Acıbadem after the completion of the determined stages.
The Classic Automobile Club President Durgut Berberoglu stated that there was very high participation in the rally this year.
Berberoglu said: "Nearly 100 cars started up. We went all the way to Silivri on the first day. Today, we went to the Anatolian Side and after lunch in Sile, we finished the rally at Benesta."
"Tonight, we will have our Republic ball and award ceremony. There are also female competitors in motorsports. The classic car branch has the highest number of female participants and we are proud of it. This year, almost 50% of the participants are women. In addition, as a club, we help a non-governmental organization in every race. This year, we will make a donation to the Make a Wish Foundation," he added.
