ISTANBUL (AA) - US-based global tech giant Meta on Thursday introduced Code Llama, an artificial intelligence (AI) tool for coding.
The new AI tool is a large language model (LLM) that can use text prompts to generate and discuss code, the firm said in a statement.
While it can be used as a productivity and educational tool to help programmers write more robust and well-documented software, it also has the potential to make workflows faster and more efficient for developers, it added.
"We believe an open approach to AI is best for developing new AI tools that are innovative, safe and responsible, so we’re releasing Code Llama for both research and commercial use under the same community license as Llama 2," said the company.
Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, said Code Llama supports many of the popular programming languages used today, including Python, C++, Java, PHP, Typescript (Javascript), C# and Bash.
