ISTANBUL (AA) – Mexico saw a trade surplus of almost $1.17 billion in March, coming against market estimates of a decline, the country's statistical authority announced Thursday.
The market expectation for the figure was to come in at a $1.19 billion deficit.
The country saw a trade surplus of $104 million in the same month of the previous year, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
The total value of exports reached $53.5 billion in March, up 3.2% from the same month of the previous year, the statistics authority said in a statement.
The value of imports totaled approximately $52.3 billion – an annual increase of 1.1%.
