ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico saw a trade deficit of more than $1.37 billion in August, according to the country's statistical authority data released Wednesday.
The figure is an increase from a $881 million deficit recorded in July, while the total trade deficit increased to $8.6 billion in the first eight months of 2023, said the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
The value of merchandise exports reached almost $52.4 billion in August, up 3.8% from the same month the previous year, INEGI said in a statement.
The value of imports totaled more than $53.7 billion last month, an annual decrease of 4.3%.
