ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico's consumer inflation picked up pace both annually and monthly in March, according to figures released Tuesday.
Annual consumer inflation came in at 4.42% last month, slightly rising from February's gain of 4.2%, said the national statistics agency INEGI.
The figure, however, came in lower than market expectations of 4.5%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased only 0.29% in March, also gaining pace from a 0.09% monthly increase recorded in February.
This figure also came lower than market estimates of a monthly gain of 0.36%.
