ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico's consumer inflation slowed down both annually and monthly in February, according to figures released Thursday.
Annual consumer inflation came in at 4.4% last month, decelerating from January's gain of 4.88%, said the national statistics agency INEGI.
The figure managed to come in slightly lower than market expectations of 4.42%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased only 0.09% in February, also slowing the pace from a 0.89% monthly increase recorded in January.
The market estimate for the figure was to show a monthly gain of 0.11%.
