ISTANBUL (AA) – Mexico's economy expanded 3.6% annually in the second quarter of 2023, the country's statistics agency INEGI announced on Tuesday.
The figure came slightly lower than the market expectation of a 3.7% expansion, while the North American economy grew 3.7% in the first quarter, compared to the same period of last year.
Mexico's economy expanded 3.1% in 2022.
The gross domestic product rose 0.8% in the second quarter, compared to the previous quarter, also coming slightly lower than the market estimate of a 0.9% increase.
On a quarterly basis, the economy grew 1% in the January-March period.
