ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico's industrial activity expanded 0.7% in May with seasonally adjusted figures compared to the previous month, the country's statistical authority said Friday.
While the figure came in above market expectations of a 0.4% gain, it followed an expansion of 0.5% in April.
The manufacturing industries and energy generation, transmission and distribution sector grew 3.5% in May, while mining and construction rose 0.2% and 0.25%, respectively, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography said in a statement.
Year-on-year, industrial activity in May climbed 0.6% at an annual rate and with seasonally adjusted figures, following an annual increase of 0.6% in April, the institute said.
