ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico's industrial activity jumped 5.2% in October at an annual rate with seasonally adjusted terms, according to the country's statistical authority on Tuesday.
The market expectation for the figure was to show an annual gain of 4.2%, following a 4.5% year-on-year increase in September.
The construction sector led the increase with a jump of 27.5% annually, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) said in a statement.
On a monthly basis, industrial production in October increased 0.6%, compared to the previous month.
The market expectation for the figure was to show a monthly contraction of 0.1%, after a 0.2% increase in September.
In October, manufacturing grew 4.7%, while mining expanded 0.6%, INEGI said in the statement.
