ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico's unemployment rate fell to 2.9% in September, according to official statistics released Thursday.
While the figure came in line with market expectations, it is down 0.1 percentage points from 3.0% in August.
The economically active population was 60.8 million in September, or 1.4 million more than the same month last year, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) figures.
In September, 59.1 million people, or 97.1%, were employed among the economically active population, coming in at 1.6 million more compared to the same month in 2022.
The unemployed population was 1.8 million in August, while the unemployment rate was 2.9% of the economically active population, the figures showed.
