ISTANBUL (AA) – Mexico's unemployment rate remained unchanged at 2.8% in December, the national statistics body revealed on Thursday.
The figure came lower than the market estimate of 2.9%.
The economically active population was 59.6 million people in December, which was 580,000 more than the same month of the previous year, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
In December, a total of 57.9 million people, or 97.2%, were employed among the economically active population. This was 1 million more compared to the same quarter of 2021.
The unemployed population was 1.6 million people in December, the INEGI figures showed.
