ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico's unemployment rate rose to 2.8% in June, compared to the previous month, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) on Friday.
The figure came higher than market expectations of 2.7%, following 2.6% in May.
The economically active population was 60.6 million, INEGI said in a statement.
In June, 58.9 million people, or 97.2%, were employed among the economically active population -- 273,000 more compared to the same month in 2023.
The unemployed population was 1.7 million, while the unemployment rate was also 2.6% of the economically active population.
