ISTANBUL (AA) - Mexico's unemployment rate rose to 2.9% in July, compared to the previous month, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) on Tuesday.
The figure came in line with market expectations, and increased 0.1 percentage point from 2.8% in June.
The economically active population was 62.1 million, INEGI said in a statement.
In June, 60.3 million people, or 97.1%, were employed among the economically active population -- 876,000 more compared to the same month in 2023.
The unemployed population was 1.8 million, while the unemployment rate was also 2.9% of the economically active population.
