Missiles fell in open areas, according to Israeli Channel 12

JERUSALEM (AA) - A number of missiles were fired from southern Lebanon toward border areas in northern Israel, according to Israeli media.

“The army monitored the launch of several rockets that fell in open areas in Margaliot and Ramim in the Upper Galilee in the north of the country,” the Israeli Channel 12 reported without providing further details.

The incident was preceded by the sounding of sirens in a number of border areas with Lebanon.

The Israeli army announced several times during the past 48 hours that it had detected missiles launched from southern Lebanon toward northern Israel.

Amid the devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, which led Israel to face charges of genocide before the International Court of Justice in The Hague, the Israeli-Lebanese border has witnessed exchanges of fire since Oct. 8 last year between the Israeli army on one side and Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the other, resulting in fatalities and injuries on both sides of the border.

Recently, there have been escalating threats from Israeli officials to expand the attacks on Lebanese territory unless Hezbollah fighters withdraw from the border areas with northern Israel.
