Major League Soccer (MLS) club Columbus Crew acquired Uruguayan forward Diego Rossi from Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Istanbul-based club confirmed Rossi's move to Columbus Crew and thanked the player for his contributions to Fenerbahce from 2021-2023.
Separately, Fenerbahce said on the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that Ohio's Columbus Crew will initially pay a $5.63 million transfer fee plus a $1 million bonus.
Fenerbahce added that the Turkish club will receive a 15% share from the player's next sale.
Rossi, 25, previously played for MLS club Los Angeles FC from 2018 to 2021, whom he helped win the Supporters’ Shield, an annual award given to the Major League Soccer team with the best regular season record as determined by the MLS points system.
He won the Turkish Cup with Fenerbahce last season.
Rossi, who mainly plays as a left winger, scored 10 goals and made 20 assists in 90 appearances for Fenerbahce.
