RABAT (AA) – Fifty-two cities in Morocco held demonstrations in solidarity with Gaza on the third Friday of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, according to a statement from the Support for Ummah Issues Foundation.
The civil society organization said more than 100 protests were organized in the cities.
Thousands participated in rallies held in cities such as Tangier, Casablanca, Tetouan, Agadir, and Chefchaouen.
Demonstrators chanted slogans expressing unconditional support for the Palestinian people.
Protesters condemned the genocide in the Gaza Strip and expressed outrage at the silence of the international community.
Israel has waged a deadly military offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7 cross-border attack led by Hamas in which 1,139 Israelis were killed.
More than 32,600 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have since been killed in Gaza, in addition to causing mass destruction, displacement and famine conditions.
Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
