ISTANBUL (AA) – Moroccan footballer Romain Saiss has joined Besiktas on a free transfer, the Turkish club announced on Friday.
The 32-year-old, who can play as both defender and defensive midfielder, moves to Türkiye after spending six seasons at English side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He has signed a two-year contract with the option to extend for another year, according to a Besiktas statement on Türkiye’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).
Saiss will receive €1.8 million (approximately $1.9 million) per season and a maximum of €12,500 per game.
Apart from Wolves, he has played for French clubs Angers, Le Harve, Clermont and Valence.
Saiss has also made 63 appearances for the Moroccan national team.
