ANKARA (AA) - The Japanese 2020 Grand Prix has been called off due to the coronavirus outbreak, it was announced on Monday.
''The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports regret to announce the cancellation of the Motul Grand Prix of Japan," MotoGP said in a statement.
"The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has obliged the cancellation of the event, which was set to take place from the 16th to the 18th of October at the Twin Ring Motegi.''
The 2020 season has been completely disrupted by the pandemic, with the season opener in Qatar canceled a week before schedule.
While the 2020 Dutch, Finn, German, British and Australian Grand Prixs were called off, races in France, Italy and Catalunya (Barcelona) got delayed.
