ANKARA (AA) - MotoGP set the goals for a massive reduction in fossil fuel consumption in motorbikes.
"As the most sustainable motorized vehicles, two-wheeled transportation has a vital role in the quest for cleaner, safer, and more eco-friendly mobility, with the power to make an incredible contribution to the world's need to cut carbon emissions, increase sustainability and fight climate change," it said in a statement on Wednesday.
By 2024, the manufacturers will require at least 40% of non-fossil origin fuels, increasing to 100% non-fossil origin in 2027.
In addition to MotoGP, the Moto2 and Moto3 teams will also run on a 100% sustainable fuel in 2027.
