WASHINGTON (AA) - Multiple people have been shot at a high school in the US state of Iowa, said a sheriff on Thursday.
The shooting took place around 7.37 a.m. local time at the Perry High School, about 40 miles northwest of downtown Des Moines in Dallas County.
Speaking at a news conference, Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante said officers "located multiple gunshot victims" at the scene.
The exact number and conditions of the victims remain unknown.
Police identified the shooter, according to Infante. The threat was no longer active.
There will be another update later Thursday, he said.
