MOSCOW (AA) - Myanmar has received two Russian Su-30 fighter jets as part of a contract with Russia, Myanmar’s industry minister said on Sunday.

"Two planes have already been delivered," Charlie Than told Russia's state RIA news agency on the sidelines of the 2023 Eastern Economic Forum in Russia's Far East city of Vladivostok.

In September 2022, Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun, the official representative of the State Administrative Council of Myanmar, announced that his country would soon receive Russian Su-30 SME fighter jets as part of a contract signed in 2018 for six aircraft of this model.

Charlie said that he does not have information about deliveries of the remaining aircraft.
