Myanmar to no longer set exchange rate for foreign currencies

Central Bank of Myanmar to allow sales according to market rate, local media reports

ISTANBUL (AA) - Myanmar’s Central Bank will no longer set the exchange rate for foreign currencies and will allow sales according to the market rate, local media reported.

The decision was taken on Tuesday.

Licensed banks for foreign currency trading in Myanmar have also announced that the Central Bank will no longer set exchange rates in online trading, according to the Eleven Myanmar news website.
