ISTANBUL (AA) - Former Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso on Wednesday replaced Carlo Ancelotti as Napoli's head coach.
"We must be good with our performance to bring enthusiasm back to the city," Gattuso said on the club's Twitter account. "l am not afraid of anything. I am aware that I can work with highly trained people.”
The move came after Ancelotti was sacked following Napoli's 4-0 victory over Genk that took the Italian club to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
Napoli dismissed Ancelotti on Tuesday for poor results in Serie A.
Last season's runners-up currently sit in seventh place in the standings after collecting 21 points with a seven-match winless run.
The 41-year-old Gattuso managed Milan last season.
